St. Joseph Parish works closely with several organizations in our community. One way we support these organizations is by holding special collections for them annually.
Central City Ministry of Toledo
Central City Ministry of Toledo, comprised of Queen of Apostles and Rosary Cathedral Campuses, is a central city pre-K through 8th grade Diocesan school. This collection is typically held in early summer.
We occasionally take up special collections for relief efforts around the world, as they occur. Recent collections have been for Nepal Earthquake Relief Efforts, (what in 2016?).
Little Sisters of the Poor
Our mission is to offer the neediest elderly of every race and religion a home where they will be welcomed as Christ, cared for as family and accompanied with dignity until God calls them to himself. This collection is typically held in January or February.
Mom's House strives to break the cycles of poverty and welfare. It is our mission to guide at-risk single parents through the process of achieving educational goals and provide tools and resources needed to become effective parents. This collection is typically held in January.
Propagation of the Faith
Founded by the Venerable Pauline Jaricot, the Society for the Propagation of the Faith seeks prayer and sacrifice for the world’s missions, now some 1,150 dioceses in Asia, Africa, the Pacific Islands and remote regions of Latin America. Help is offered for pastoral and evangelizing programs, for catechists and catechetical work, to build churches and chapels, for the work of religious communities in health care and education, and for communication and transportation needs. This collection is typically held in the fall.
St. Vincent de Paul
The St. Joseph Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is open to all parishioners. The members help those in need in a spirit of justice and charity. A special collection is taken for our St. Vincent de Paul Society the first weekend of every month.
