Winter 2017-18 Ministry and Server Schedule
    

Spring 2018 Ministry Schedule February 17 - May 27, 2018 

Dear Liturgical Minister

     Above you will find the February 17th through May 27th schedule and roster for your ministry.     

     For Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Ushers and Greeters the following liturgies are NOT included in the schedule:

Holy Thursday Mass (March 29) at 7 p.m. (no offertory collection)
Good Friday liturgies (March 30) at 1 and 7 p.m. (no offertory collection)
Easter Vigil Mass (March 31) at 8:30 p.m.
Easter Sunday Masses (April 1) at 7:30, 9:30, 11:30.       Noon (at Franciscan Queen of Peace Chapel)

If you are able to serve at any of these liturgies, please contact me via:   phone @ 419-885-5791, ext. 230 or email - jdenyer@stjoesylvania.org.  

     Eucharistic Ministers  You are welcome to provide a short blessing to children in the Communion line who are not able to receive the Eucharist.  A blessing, such as “May Jesus bless you”, or “May God bless you”, may be used while extending your hand over their head.  For hygienic reasons, please do not place your hand directly on their head.  

     If you will be out of town during June, July or August, please let me know so that the schedule can be adjusted.  We will need to know this information no later than May 1st.

Eucharistic Ministers

Lay ministers assist in Communion distribution at our weekday and weekend Masses.  Training is provided, and you can choose at which Mass you would like help.

Lectors

Parishioners are trained to proclaim the Word of God during our liturgical celebrations.  Training is provided, and you can choose at which Mass you would like help.

Ushers/Ministers of Hospitality

Ministers of Hospitality are those who present a welcoming response and inviting atmosphere to those who attend, and discern the needs of those who come for our Masses.  Ushers greet those as they enter our worship area and assist in their seating needs.  They are involved in the collection and distribution of Communion.

Altar Servers

All children in grades 6 through high school are trained to assist the presider at Mass and Funerals.  they serve in various ways within the Mass including carrying the cross, holding the Sacramentary, bringing the sacred vessels and ministering the wine and water for the priest.
